Within the newly designed GMAT™ Exam – Focus Edition, the Data Insights section incorporates updated question formats such as Integrated Reasoning and Data Sufficiency. These question types gauge a freshly calibrated aptitude for digital and data literacy, a skill highly pertinent and sought-after in the contemporary business landscape.

The Data Insights segment evaluates candidates’ aptitude for analyzing and deciphering data while applying it to real-world business scenarios. With the GMAT™ Exam – Focus Edition’s revamped test structure, Data Insights utilizes Integrated Reasoning and Data Sufficiency question formats to gauge a freshly calibrated digital and data literacy facet—among the most pertinent and sought-after proficiencies in the business landscape today.This section comprises 20 questions that task you with evaluating how diverse sources and forms of information—comprising graphical, numerical, and textual components—interrelate and can be harnessed to make well-informed decisions. These inquiries might encompass mathematical calculations, data analysis, verbal reasoning, or a blend of all three. It’s worth noting that you are permitted to use an on-screen calculator when working through this segment.The question formats featured in this section encompass:

  1. Data Sufficiency: Assesses your capacity to dissect a quantitative problem, identify pertinent data, and ascertain the point at which sufficient information exists to solve the problem.
  2. Multi-Source Reasoning: Measures your adeptness at scrutinizing data from multiple origins, including textual passages, tables, visuals, or a fusion of these elements. This involves careful analysis of each data source to address various questions. Some questions necessitate identifying disparities among disparate data sources, while others call for drawing deductions or assessing data relevance.
  3. Table Analysis: Evaluates your competence in arranging and dissecting a data table akin to a spreadsheet, with the objective of determining relevant information or specific conditions being met.
  4. Graphics Interpretation: Gauges your capability to interpret data conveyed through graphs or other visual representations (scatter plots, x/y graphs, bar charts, pie charts, or statistical curves) to deduce correlations and make logical inferences.
  5. Two-Part Analysis: Measures your proficiency in solving intricate problems that could span quantitative, verbal, or hybrid domains. The format intentionally encompasses versatility to span a broad array of content. Your ability to weigh trade-offs, resolve simultaneous equations, and discern relationships between dual entities comes under scrutiny.
